Gerven L. Booker, 70, formerly of Yardville, NJ passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Avant Rehab and Care Center.
He was the son of the late Maude E. Calloway and Chestine Booker, Sr.
He was born in Mullins, WV on June 21, 1953. Attended Glen Jean Elementary School, Glen Jean, WV and Mt. Hope High School in Mt. Hope, WV. After graduation in June,1973, he moved to the Trenton area.
He worked for Gould Batteries as a battery maker, Princeton University, janitor, PSE&G, flag man and seven years ago retired from Quakerbridge Mall as a security guard due to health issues. He was a very beloved and popular DJ at numerous clubs and functions Always the life of the party from beginning to end. Never a dull moment around Gerven, just love, laughter and so much fun.
Gerven loved his family very much and always looked towards his brother's (Terry) large family and friends annual picnic and DJ with his famous party sayings which always put a big smile on your face and bring back happy unforgettable memories of those parties He loved music, especially being a DJ, singing, dancing, baking (especially his famous peach cobblers), electronics, traveling, collecting antique cars and meeting people.
He is preceded in death by Chestine Booker, Jr., Luther Booker, Cynthia Booker, Janet Taylor and Ellis Booker.
Survivors include last of 5 siblings, his brother Terry O. Booker (Corliss Jean), Trenton NJ, sister-in-law, Adrian Booker, Fresno, CA, special nieces, Tiffany Booker, Monica Booker-Johnson (James) and Ellie Booker-Wolfe, all of Trenton, NJ and a special nephew, Terry T. Booker (Kenyona) Trenton, NJ and Juan Taylor of Frisco, TX. A host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and friends.
Gerven will forever be missed and loved by all of those who had the privilege of being in his presence No more sorry, no more pain. Rest on until we meet again.
A Memorial service will be held at 12pm Friday, April 26, 2024 at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Interment will be private.
